A Lifelong Dedication to Sports: Sofia's Journey from School Days to Ultramarathons
Sofia was the Greek National Champion in both the youth and women's categories. By 2005, she had competed in 35 marathons. Since then, she has participated in numerous ultra-running events (100k, 125k, 200k), both in Greece and internationally.
In 2011, she achieved an incredible feat by completing the "SPARTATHLON," a non-stop 246k race, in 35 hours. Starting under the Acropolis and finishing in Sparta, this grueling ultra-race has a cut-off time of 36 hours. In 2011, she made history as the first Greek woman to complete the race within the official time limit.
